Appointments

Every effort is made to accommodate your preferred time and Doctor. Emergencies will always be given priority. Longer consultations are available so please tell the Receptionist when booking your appointment if you require extra time. Should you or a family member require an interpreter service, please advise us of this when you make your appointment. Patients are encouraged to call prior to their appointment time to check on waiting times to help alleviate extended waiting times in Reception.

Translation Services

Translation services are available upon request. Please see our friendly reception staff upon booking your appointment.

After Hours Care

This practice does not provide 24-hour care for our patients. If there are any emergencies outside our work hours, please call 000, 13HEALTH or present to your nearest Hospital.

Home Visits

Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. Please phone the surgery to arrange visits with Reception Staff.

Telephone Access

Doctors may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If the Doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken, and the receptionist will advise you when it is likely the Doctor may be able to address your call. You will always put through a Specialist or Doctor in an emergency. It is helpful if you advise the Receptionist of the nature of your call as they may be able to assist you.

Services Available

Check-ups, Family Planning, Pap Smears, Pregnancy Tests, ECG, Spirometry, Venesections, Vaccinations, Skin Checks, Minor Surgery (stitching cuts, removal of moles/sunspots), Cryotherapy, Nutritional Advice, Medicals, Care Plans (Diabetic, Chronic Diseases, Mental Health, etc.), Health Assessments, COVID-19 Vaccinations.

Billing Arrangements

This practice is a bulk billing practice. It is essential that you present with a current Medicare or Veterans’ Affairs Card for all consultations in order to access bulk billing services. If you hold a current concession card you also need to present this at the time of your appointment. No current Medicare Card and some Medical Clearances will attract a fee; discuss this with the Receptionist at the time of booking your appointment.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your appointment, we greatly appreciate you contacting us so that we may allocate your appointment to another Patient in need. Late arrivals may be required to reschedule. For no show appointments, please be aware that there is a $50 fee if an appointment is not cancelled prior to the time of visit.

Recall / Reminder System

This practice operates a recall/reminder system with regards to your test results and routine testing (Pap Smears, ETC). Please advise your doctor if you do not wish to participate in the reminder system. Our Practice Staff will contact you in the event of the Doctor wishing to discuss test results with you. You can phone about your test results and Reception Staff can assist you with you enquires.

Personal Health Information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It us the policy of this practice to maintain privacy of your personal health information to ensure that this information is only available to authorised staff. Please be aware that your personal health information may be disclosed in referral letters to Specialist etc. If you identify as being from a particular cultural background, please advise reception staff so this information can be recorded with your health information. Ensure you advise Reception Staff of changes to your address and contact details, including emergency contact.

If you have any problems, we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your Doctor or Office Manager, or if you prefer you may write to us. We take your concerns, suggestions and feedback seriously and will always attempt to resolve any issues.
